Forums Suggestions Moving on

I think its time for me to move on from OC. I am reading the "support" forum and don't see any answers to issues. All I see is a copy and paste of the link to the self hosted support which is just a page for buying services. Sad. I really wanted this software to work. People's problems are code based, NOT HOSTING BASED. This software isnt going to run any different on any other system. My plan was to get this to work then buy a premium theme. Now, I think I will just pay for some other piece of software altogether because based on the readings, I cant trust the support I would get from here even if I was paying. Besides, no month to month billing? Really? WTF. If you took a vote, I am sure others feel the same way.

Hello Alan,

Thanks for your suggestion.

Indeed we do not offer free technical support. If you have questions about the service you can always email us directly.

https://yclas.com/contact.html

If you have free plan with https://yclas.com/pricing.html you have free private support.

We do not offer monthly payments, we did before and was not doable for small amounts.

I can personally recommend to you other places to take a look , but no one will give you free support for a self hosted solution.

Communications companies figure if it is an issue with their side of the demarc, they fix it, if it is on the customer side, they charge. I am using GoDaddy hosting, cPanel - Installatron. Dont they udpate platforms and software as well? I do NOT see how the categories not nesting, or locations csv errors being a self-host problem. Is the free software made by an intern and the paid software made by everyone else? Feels like broken code, not broken hosting. Not saying the software is junk, I like it a lot, but there are clearly some bugs that the self-hosters deserve to have fixed. Or is 2.1.4 the last version ever to be put out for free? Ever. To me, support is, "how do i, can you show me how, where do i, does this do, i cant find". However, a button that should work and doesnt isn't. Its frustating - then turns to bug reporting - after you have thrown your hands in the air and surrendered your dignity and skills to code gremlin army.

Hello Alan,

I've been developing software for over 12 years, not exactly an intern. But yes learning every day.

Last version is 3.0.0, if you are using 2.1.4 you have a version that was released 2014-03-26, so yes... go daddy did not update the software. Probably plenty of bugs you are right.

That's why we release often and notify everyone about it.
