Part of the guide Classifieds sites by country

Before you post: how Thailand's classifieds scene has changed, and how to stay safe

People in market during daytime

The list below still covers the main categories, but Thailand's market and its rules have changed a lot since we wrote it. Here is what we found in October 2026.

  • Kaidee is the general classifieds brand missing from this list. It launched in September 2011 as dealfish.co.th, became OLX.co.th in March 2014, and was renamed Kaidee that November. Dubai-based EMPG bought it in April 2020 (Wikipedia). Its web traffic has fallen sharply: Similarweb now ranks kaidee.com #555 among sites in Thailand and #11 in the marketplace category (Similarweb).
  • Pantipmarket is still very active. Its homepage advertises more than 500,000 products and services, including 83,691 real estate listings (Pantipmarket, October 2026).
  • One2car is now part of a regional group. iCar Asia bought One2car in December 2014 (MarketScreener). Malaysia's Carsome bought a first stake in iCar Asia in July 2021 and completed its takeover in February 2022, in a deal worth more than US$200 million (TechCrunch, TNGlobal).

New rules for online marketplaces

Since 20 August 2023, Thailand's Royal Decree on Digital Platform Services has required marketplaces to notify the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA) if they earn more than THB 50 million a year (for companies) or have more than 5,000 monthly users in Thailand. Overseas platforms serving Thai users must appoint a coordinator based in Thailand (Norton Rose Fulbright).

On 12 April 2025, amendments to the Emergency Decree on technology crime were published. Under them, banks, telecom operators and social media platforms can share liability for scam losses unless they show they followed their regulator's security standards (Tilleke & Gibbins).

Fake sales are the most common scam

The Thai government reported 708,141 online fraud complaints between March 2022 and October 2024, with losses of 74.8 billion baht. Fake sales of goods and services were the most common type of fraud (The Nation, November 2024). The pattern continues. In the week of 19–25 July 2026, the police Anti-Cyber Scam Center received 5,716 complaints, and 4,429 of them (77.5%) involved fake product or service sales, with losses above 48 million baht (The Pattaya News).

  • Don't transfer money before you see the item, especially for phones, cars and rentals advertised below market price.
  • Keep the conversation on the platform. Be wary of sellers who quickly move you to LINE and ask for payment there.
  • For vehicles and property, meet the seller and check the ownership documents in person.
  • If you are scammed, report it right away to the Anti-Cyber Scam Center hotline 1441 or at thaipoliceonline.go.th, so that the receiving account can be frozen quickly.

Publish this as your safety page and link it from every listing and message screen; add your own payment and reporting details.

BUY AND SELL SAFELY ON [SITE NAME] Most people on [Site name] are genuine. These simple habits protect you from the few who are not. MEETING IN PERSON: - Meet in a busy public place in daylight, such as a shopping centre or outside a police station. [Add local safe-trade spots if you have them.] - Tell a friend where you are going, or bring someone with you. - For large items at a home, do not go alone, and keep valuables out of sight when buyers visit yours. - Check the item fully before you pay. Test electronics, and check that serial numbers match any paperwork. - For vehicles, see the registration documents and check the item is not reported stolen or under finance where your country allows. PAYING AND GETTING PAID: - Best for in-person deals: pay or get paid on the spot, once you have seen the item. - [If your site has payments:] Pay through [Site name]'s checkout. Your money is held until you confirm you received the item. Payments made outside the site are not covered. - Never pay in advance by gift cards, wire transfer, money transfer services or crypto to someone you have not met. - Sellers: do not hand over an item until the money is in your account. A screenshot or an email "confirming payment" is not proof. - Be careful with cash for large amounts; consider a bank transfer you can see arrive before handing over. SIGNS OF A SCAM: - A price far below what the item usually sells for. - The other person cannot meet, is "abroad" or wants to use a courier you have never heard of. - They send you to a payment link or website that is not [Site name]. - They overpay and ask you to send back the difference. - They ask for codes sent to your phone, your passwords or ID photos. - They push you to decide quickly or move the chat off the site. PROTECT YOUR DETAILS: - Keep chats inside [Site name] messages until you are ready to meet. - Never share your account password or verification codes. [Site name] will never ask for them. IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG: - Stop contact and do not send more money. - Report the listing or user with the "Report" link, or write to [contact email]. - If you lost money or feel unsafe, contact your bank and the local police.
