How many photos your listings can have in 2026, and how to make them count
Since this post was written, the number of photos sellers can attach to a listing has become part of each Yclas plan. According to the Yclas pricing page (October 2026), you get:
| Plan | Price | Listings | Photos per listing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $69/month ($19/month for the first 6 months) | Up to 5,000 | 5 |
| Professional | $99/month | Up to 100,000 | 20 |
| Enterprise | $299/month | Up to 300,000 | 30 |
As the site admin, you choose the number in your ad settings, up to your plan's limit. You can allow fewer photos than the plan permits, for example in a jobs board where one logo is enough. In the image settings you also set the maximum file size per image (up to 12 MB), the image quality and an optional watermark. Profile pictures use the same limit, so if you allow 5 photos per ad, users can keep up to 5 pictures on their profile and pick one as the main one.
What makes a listing photo work
The big platforms publish their rules for product images, and they work just as well for classifieds. Google Merchant Center's image requirements set a minimum of 500 x 500 pixels and recommend 1500 x 1500 pixels or more. Google does not allow promotional overlays, watermarks, borders or placeholder images on product images. JPEG and WebP are its recommended formats.
For search, Google Search Central's image SEO guide (last updated 2 March 2026) says alt text is the most important image attribute. It also recommends descriptive file names (for example my-new-black-kitten.jpg rather than IMG00023.JPG) and sharp, high-quality images placed near the text they illustrate.
A short checklist you can add to your site's "How to post" page:
- Lead with the best photo. The main photo is the one buyers see first in listings, so ask sellers to make it a clear, well-lit shot of the item itself.
- Use every slot for something new. Show the front, back, close-ups of labels or serial numbers, and any damage. Honest photos of flaws mean fewer wasted messages and disputes.
- Shoot big, upload sensibly. A phone photo of around 1500 pixels on the long side is enough. Your size limit keeps very large files from slowing down uploads on mobile data.
- No text banners or borders. Put the price and contact details in the listing fields, not in the image.
- Think before you turn on watermarks. A watermark discourages people from copying photos, but Google Merchant Center does not allow watermarks on product images. Keep it small, or leave it off if you want listings to look clean when they are shared.
- Use real photos on profiles. A real face or a shop front on the seller's profile does more for trust than a logo or a stock image.
Hope you enjoy it!
