As many of you know, we are also the developers of Open-Classifieds.com developers. Since Yclas was launched 2 years ago; we kept software/brands updated, Open Classifieds, and Yclas separate. From today Open Classifieds is now Yclas Self-Hosted.
Why the rename?
We have always followed the idea to "keep things simple". For that reason, we want to make things easy for everyone. Keeping two software separate created a lot of confusion with our users and many of them were asking for support or help on the wrong platform. This also caused us to work harder to keep both the brands and software alive.
This movement will be of great benefit to everyone. Keeping things simple and reducing the workload for us, will give us more time to focus on our users and customers.
What's Self-Hosted?
To put it into context, when you run Yclas on your server. You will be responsible for:
- Yclas updates
- Yclas installation
- OS updates
- OS Backups
- Any other sysadmin tasks
For whom is Yclas Self-Hosted?
Basically, it's good for anyone that has the technical knowledge
- Developers
- Sysadmins
- Companies with developers and want to run a private classifieds site
- Companies who require bigger software modifications
Different versions
We have 2 Yclas Self-Hosted versions
- Lite - Free version with no support and limited features
- Pro - All themes, features, and 3 months of professional support included.
