Moving from Osclass
Yclas reads an Osclass database export directly.
- Export your Osclass database as a .sql or .sql.gz file, the kind phpMyAdmin or your hosting panel makes.
- Start a free trial, choose "I already have a site" in the sign-up wizard, and upload the export in Move your site to Yclas.
- Match the fields, check the dry run (a preview with any errors, nothing is saved yet), then import.
Your listings come across with their categories, locations and photos, and so do user accounts. Passwords are not copied: imported users set a new one. Photos come from a ZIP of your uploads folder or from your old site's addresses. Other plugin data, such as payments or ratings, is not imported. You can undo the latest import within 7 days.
When Osclass may be the better choice
- You want to run the whole thing yourself: your server, your copy of the code, any change you like.
- You or someone on your team is happy to handle PHP, MySQL and server updates, and that time costs less than a monthly plan.

Is Osclass really free?
Yes. The Osclass core is free and open source under the Apache 2.0 licence. You pay for hosting, and for any premium themes, plugins or services you add. OsclassPoint's bundles cost €199.99 to €499.99, include 12 months of updates and support, and then renew at 35% of the price a year.
Can I move my Osclass site to Yclas?
Yes. Export your Osclass database as a .sql or .sql.gz file and upload it in Move your site to Yclas. Listings, categories, locations, photos and user accounts are imported after a dry run you can check. Users set a new password, and you can undo the latest import within 7 days.
Do I need my own server for Yclas?
No. Hosting, SSL, updates, security fixes and backups are part of every plan. You start on a free yourname.yclas.com address and can connect your own domain on any paid plan.
Can I change the code, as I can with Osclass?
Yclas is a hosted service, so there is no access to the code, database or FTP. Professional and Marketplace add custom code sections and webhooks, and our team does custom design and development.
Can I take my data with me if I leave Yclas?
Yes. Export everything downloads a ZIP with your listings, users (without passwords), categories, locations, custom fields, pages, blog posts and photos.
