Built in PHP since 2009, run by the people who write it.
Yclas began as Open Classifieds, a PHP script people downloaded and installed. It is still PHP, on the Kohana framework, and still has the admin, the themes and the listing engine of a script. The difference is that we run every site on our servers and ship updates to all of them, so nobody is left on an old version.

Most script edits are to the theme: colours, the header, a banner, a notice. On Yclas, theme options take header and footer HTML, the Studio moves home page sections, and custom CSS works on every plan. For your own HTML, CSS and scripts on the page, there are custom code sections.

What is a classified ads script?
Software you download and install on your own server to run a classifieds website: listings, categories, search, user accounts and an admin, usually written in PHP with a MySQL database.
Is Yclas a PHP classifieds script?
Yclas is written in PHP and began as the Open Classifieds script in 2009. Today it is offered only as a hosted service, so you use it without installing anything.
Can I download the Yclas script?
No. Self-hosted Yclas has not been sold since October 2026. If you need to host the code yourself, look at an open source script such as Osclass.
Can I edit the code of a hosted classifieds script?
Not the core. You can add custom CSS on every plan and your own HTML, CSS and scripts in custom code sections on Professional and up, and use the API and webhooks.
Can I move from my current script?
Yes. The importer handles Osclass, Flynax, LaraClassifier, WordPress and CSV files, with a dry run first.
How big can a site get?
Starter holds up to 5,000 listings and Marketplace holds up to 300,000 listings.
Who handles security?
We do: server updates, PHP updates, the platform's security fixes, SSL and bot protection.
